Ethical volunteering

Volunteering with a small organisation like Team Kenya provides you with a life changing experience, where you will work with communities and grassroots organisations to create real and lasting change.  Our volunteers stay and work at Karibuni Eco Cottages, our community-based initiative supporting responsible and ethical tourism, located in the beautiful Nyanza region of Western Kenya.

Karibuni Eco-Cottages is run on behalf of the local community by our partner organisation, Ndhiwa Community Empowerment and Development Project (NCEDP).

The best voluntourism programmes ensure that volunteers are involved in sustainable and meaningful projects, where their specialist skills and time are put to good use and where the local people reap the benefits.

Volunteer opportunities at Karibuni support the Ndhiwa community, helping local people develop skills to enable them to work, set up their own businesses, and support their children through school.

By volunteering Karibuni, you open yourself up to a unique and memorable experience and the opportunity to make a valuable contribution towards supporting the local people and environment.

Our projects have been developed to support educational and economic development and provide lasting benefits to the Ndhiwa community. We encourage our volunteers to share skills, knowledge and ideas in aid of our existing as well as potential activities and welcome your contribution.
